and it's easy to get stuck on something little and it's easy to get stuck on something that you don't even want to get stuck on but I'm so happy to be stuck on you and I'm so happy that you stuck it out too cuz I'm sure as hell stuck on you and it means so much to love you and I've been with you a long time I've learned to respect you more and more for your honesty and your effort to do what's right and I love a lot for that and I love you a lot for just being you and I mean what was I supposed to do being so stuck on you? this song is about done but I'm still stuck on you and the song is about done and I'm still stuck on you
2.
Secondhand 04:58
counting the seconds on the second hand grabbing your clothes at the secondhand store and talking about secondhand stuff like smoke and old friends and auto parts counting the seconds on the second hand counting seconds on the second hand I went to get clothes for the band at the secondhand store I bought a secondhand diamond and it was still just as good as when it was first sold to the first dude who bought it and I came across this bed frame, uh, secondhand and some people don't really have a clue of what that kind of feeling is all about
3.
Trigger 04:16
trigger just one more time before you pull on that trigger I stepped back and I said hey, just before you pull the trigger there why don't you gimme one moment to spare tugging at the heart strings hitchhiking home do you even know your way home? do you even know your way home? I mean, how did we get here from there? I don't remember going anywhere I don't recall going anywhere
4.
an August falls upon us it occurred when we weren't lookin it occurred when we looked away an August fell upon us and we wondered what the hell had happened was it that we were some other place? was it we were some other where? I'm sorry I was in some other place not really paying attention I'm sorry could I beg you to like kinda catch me up on the situation? what situation, boy? exactly what situation did you need help with? isn't the expression strong enough? isn't the expression long enough?
5.
Last Watch 03:34
they were hiding out in the hay fields hiding behind those great big bales of hay and nobody knew what they were doing out there but they were watching us yeah that's for sure and you know you behave a certain way when you know that people are watching you and it isn't the way that when people aren't watching you everybody just sits there and not watching each other until they wonder what the other guy is doing and start being afraid about that and you know he's probably just out watering his lawn or something but some people will decide it's a conspiracy and decide to burn down his barn and we wondered how we got to this place we wondered why it was us that was getting picked on
6.
Honor 03:24
feelings were just a thing to be pushed aside with utter disregard for our well being and feelings were pushed aside as we contemplated what we were seeing and we thought about you when we were there and we wrote songs about it in your honor and I didn't know how to feel about it and so I just went with it and believed and it was time to believe [This song was recorded July 14th, 2016 at 11:52 PM in a garage in Big Piney, Wyoming] [This song has one small clip edit, filtering and volume adjustments.]

Oil Town 05:35
interspersed with aspirations there were congratulations we knew we had to abide by the regulations even with our aspirations and the stab of childhood regret about the stupid shit we did back then in the oil town and we drank beer in the oil town and we woke up in a cowboy town and I did a lot of stupid shit shit that I shouldn't have probably even survived but a lot of dumb shit too that made a lot of people angry because I was a total dumbshit then and I deserved their scorn I deserved the shit that they gave me at the time and it was childhood regret that spilled into the beer drinking in that cowboy town the next day we woke up in a oil town and that's how I ended up in weird town weird town, ooooh, USA and there were a lot brilliant scientists there and there were a lot of brain surgeons there and they drank beer until they shot people in the face or drove their car off the bridge to avoid a moose and plenty died there yeah, plenty died there or maybe just a little bit later when they figured out what the fuck had happened there in that oil town where you could go to sleep and wake up in a cowboy town and the next day it'd be an oil town
8.
they're in peak state they're ambitious and they're on the road to successland they're in peak shape and they're at the top of their game and they're watching you and they're thinking you're weak cuz they're at the peak yeah, they're at the top of their game they're in peak state they're in good shape and they're at the top of their game kinda like you're not
9.
it's important to properly lay down the line it's important to individually bide the time it's important to properly lay down the line but little pools of blue shimmer through here and there they shimmer through and sparkle on over rainbows under the sun they sparkle on rainbows and they sparkle under the sun it's important to properly lay down the line cuz it's important to properly lay down the line . so we can appreciate your urgency we demand your explanations in triplicate and together we slide but you can't see you can't see the upward climb of our community you choose not to perceive so by your side we witness examplary behavior and your sweet goatee and we witness your examplary behavior and we're buying into your MLM and so we can appreciate so we can appreciate your urgency

Bitterness 03:57
bitterness he's brewing up a special tea it's filled with bitterness he's brewing up a specialty and he's making a special stew of bitterness it's a specialty and there's bitterness there
11.
This Moment 02:47
he wanted to go there but he wasn't exactly sure that he was ready yet he wasn't sure he was quite ready yet but he sure wanted to go but almost no one knows what makes a person go where the wind blows and he wanted to go but he wasn't sure he was quite ready yet and he really wanted to go but he wasn't quite sure that he was quite ready yet nothing matters more than this moment and nothing matters more than this single moment of time
12.
Crazy Years 05:04
shit fuck and it's a shame cuz most people are dumb as posts and it's a shame because they believe in conspiracy theories and have a lot of fear about ghosts and aliens and anti-vaccine conspiracy theories and chemtrails and bigfoot and and 9-11 truthers they're freaking everywhere and these people are goin nuts and they're blowin shit up and shootin people everywhere and there's a lot of violence goin on you know Heinlein called these the crazy years hey yaw yeah it's the crazy years people are everywhere and there's lots of violence and there's storms and troopers and stuff and bothersome horrible things and a lot of pain in the ass son of a bitch but hey even though most people need the shit slapped outta em there's good people around and they oughta be praised for their understanding and faithfulnees and courage and thoughfulness and knowledge and expertise yeah you're the only who's ever felt like that yeah you're the only one who sat there wonderin if there was a reason that they should even hang around and take the abuse that they were gettin all around and yeah there's a reason why you shouldn't just sit there and take the abuse and wonder why people are such fucking pricks most a the time and it's sad that humanity is based upon worship of machismo and greed and it's sad that modern life is governed by a government who is in big fat need of a mental institution and you know maybe when you get a civil thought in your head and maybe you're willing to talk at a civil level about something that matters hey you can look me up then until then why don't you go out in the desert and sit on a cactus?
13.
Silver Sands 02:41
walking on sliver sands walking on silver sands walking and believing while the sand squeezes between my toes walking and believing and with my mind where no one knows walking in the sand walking in the sand with no plans ow

I think you're forgetting that's it's your job to be kind I think I might need to point that out to you it's your job to be kind I thought I might need to repeat that to you don't be a dick afterall it's your job to be kind it's something you might want to think about and not forget don't be a dick oh, don't be a dick of course the real song would have been much better this was just a practice song and we'll probably delete it later
15.
Small Side 03:04
those rocks there are a little on the small side those rocks there are just a little bit on the small side those rocks there are ruddy green and I put them in my backpack and fled the scene those rocks there are just a little bit on the small side and we're gonna have to go look for some bigger rocks somewhere else and you better hope we find them those rocks there are just a little bit on the small side
16.
Pissed 03:32
and you're pre-qualified for five hundred thousand dollars in cash we looked at you and you're pre-qualified to take us to the cleaners and back and you're invited to take our diamond rings away and you're welcome to take our gold-plated instruments away and you'd think they might want to take all my fingernails or something like that cuz they were out for blood yeah, they were out for blood and my name was at the top of their list they were pissed when we got there and they were pissed when they left well, piss on them
17.
Shameful 02:42
this melody is almost shameful and so here's a little bit of complication to get you by the trash people aren't coming and this wouldn't have happened if you hadn't have been so damn stubborn in the first place what the hell are we supposed to do with this now where the hell are we supposed to hide this? and this has happened a few times before but I wouldn't wanna ask you more maybe because it's like an oozing sore this melody is almost shameful so here's some complication for you but you need to just carry on and you need to just continue squeaking by
18.
Marshmallows 04:29
just jump over those stones there just lift your feet and believe just climb over those stones there you don't have to bleed but it might happen just jump over those stones there in your way just jump over the stones just jump over the stones just jump over the stones and you'll see there's a kingdom beyond the sky beyond even paradise there's a kindgdom that's worth livin for worth dyin for worth thinkin that there's more out there for me here's paradise here's heaven here's nirvana here's shangri-la slide down the slide into the marshmallows slide down the slide into the marshmallows
19.
I broke my back while I was bending over backward to abide you I broke my back when you were there I broke my back on your industry and I broke my back for your comfort and immunity unknowingly and I unknowingly allowed you to take my freedom and my conciousness away for a nickel and I willingly bent over backwards to abide you and I willingly went out of my way to comfort you when all you'd do was blow me away in your obnoxiousness you allowed yourself to become a monster and then in your zeal to overcome that you became someone who can only blame

about

All noises/music/lyrics provided courtesy of Roger A. Ball via exclusive license.

Most songs are pure improvisation, that is, "true captures."
One take. No over-dubs. Just one guy and one instrument.
From my basement to your ears. Minimal editing. Sometimes,
you might easily hear the editing. To me, this isn't about
polish, this is about what actually happened. About 3 or 4 of these
tracks started with nearly complete lyrics—most of those lyrics were
transcribed from a previous attempt of the song and those words in all
likelihood were from earlier improvisational ideas. In other words,
honestly, these songs just sort of occur with nearly no intent;
typically based on a single idea or phrase I've glommed onto. The
only real agenda to tell people they should be more humble
and realize they are nothing but a blip of geologic time. Mostly kinda
surfing for satire but also really trying to stretch my wings.

† Special note about 'Silver Sands,' yes, it has been pointed out to me that this tune, although played on Baritone ukulele, has close similarities to 'Hozel Californix.' I would like it noted that I do not "play" that song or any covers, I have never learned it or even looked at the chords and doubt I will ever try to play it. Really. My song is an just an event, it happened. You can clearly hear my spontaneous discovery of the progression...no infringement intended and you can hear the song as a whole is inherently an original composition. Thanks.
